Home / Custom / Optical Components / Aspherical Lens / Precision Polishing Aspherical Lens Precision-polished aspherical lens is optical component that use ultra-precision machining techniques such as CNC polishing to directly remove material from a glass blank to form an aspherical curvature. The core value lies in achieving extremely high surface accuracy (better than λ/40 RMS), making it particularly suitable for applications with stringent image quality requirements.
Up to λ/40 RMS (~15 nm) or even higher.
Processes such as MRF and IBP can achieve ultra-smooth surfaces, avoiding scattering losses and eliminating subsurface damage that may affect the laser damage threshold.
For lenses with diameters ranging from tens of millimeters to several meters, or for hard and brittle materials that cannot be machined using molding (such as SiC), precision polishing is the only option.
Because it does not require expensive molds, precision polishing is ideal for small-batch, diverse prototyping and special customization needs.
