Linear gradient filters employ a continuous coating process and rely on a multi-layer wedge-shaped thin-film structure to achieve spatially continuous variation in optical filtering characteristics. By adjusting the slope of the thin film according to dispersion requirements, it is possible to obtain the desired linear variation rate.
