Protected Aluminum Mirror

Protected aluminum mirror coating with a layer of magnesium fluoride (MgF₂) or silicon dioxide (SiO₂) to solve the problem of the lack of durability of pure aluminum coating. ECOPTIK provide the round, square and customized shape mirrors with a protected Al coating and UV-Enhanced Al coating in various sizes.

Key Features
  • Robust and Durable
    Robust and Durable

The protective film significantly enhances the mechanical strength of the aluminum film, enabling it to withstand gentle cleaning and greatly extending its service life.

  • Broad-Spectrum High Reflectivity
    Broad-Spectrum High Reflectivity

Inheriting the high reflectivity of aluminum film across the visible to far-infrared bands, and with a flat reflectivity curve, it is insensitive to incident angle and polarization state.

  • Low Cost
    Low Cost

It is one of the most widely used and economical metal reflectors, suitable for the vast majority of general-purpose optical systems.

  • Limitations
    Limitations

Not suitable for high-power lasers. The nature of the metal film determines its low laser damage threshold, making it unable to withstand high-energy/high-power laser irradiation.

Typical Application Areas
  • Optical System Components
    Optical System Components
Used to establish optical paths, deflect beams, and construct basic optical systems (such as laser collimation and interferometry). It is the most commonly used reflector in laboratories, suitable for most routine experiments that do not require maximum efficiency.
  • Imaging and Optical Instruments
    Imaging and Optical Instruments
Used for light deflection in instruments such as microscopes, telescopes, and medical diagnostic equipment. Especially in systems requiring coverage from visible light to near-infrared, its flat reflectivity curve ensures accurate color reproduction and balanced energy distribution in imaging.
