A crosshair reticle is a crucial reference element in optical instruments. It is essentially a transparent glass plate with finely etched crosshairs on its surface. Its core function is to provide a precise visual reference, primarily used for: aiming and alignment; measurement and calibration; positioning and centering; guiding and calibration.
The position and width of the engraved lines require extremely high precision, typically down to the micrometer level.
Usually made of optical glass (such as K9 or fused silica), featuring high light transmittance, low refractive index fluctuation, and good chemical stability.
The engraved lines are typically coated with a protective film to prevent wear and corrosion.
